Town’s MP and Mayor open new community gardens

-

A colourful new community garden has been officially opened in Highbridge by the town’s MP and Mayor this week.

MP Tessa Munt, Mayor Michael Clarke and Deputy Mayor Janet Keen were among the special guests at the grand opening of the new facilities at the rear of Morland Community Hall.

A ribbon was cut by the dignataries and local families, who will benefit from the new gardens, joined in the celebration.

Earlier this month, Highbridge Residents Association was awarded a £1,600 grant by Somerset Community Council’s Grassroots team to help fund the project, as pictured.

The project, led by the Residents Association, has transformed part of the rear of Morland Hall into a large area of flowers and shrubs that will be maintained by local people.
