Burnham-On-Sea Art Group kicked off its 50th anniversary celebrations with the opening of a week-long exhibition at the town’s Community Centre on Friday evening (July 30th).
Burnham’s Mayor and Mayoress, Michael and Maria Clarke, officially opened the event alongside the group’s Chairman Alan Castle and Vice Chairman Pete Smith.
Mr Smith told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This is a special week for the group and to mark it we have over 65 paintings on display from our 20 members.”
The week-long exhibition runs in the Community Centre in Berrow Road until Saturday August 7th and is open every day from 10am-5pm. Entrance is free.
Most of the artwork is available to buy and a raffle for a painting will be drawn on the final day at 3pm to raise money for the Parkinsons Society and the Art Group.
