Fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea and Bridgwater were called to out to tackle a series of shed blazes in Watchfield on Friday evening (July 30th).
At 6.11pm crews from Burnham were sent to a report of a single shed on fire – but on their approach they could see large volumes of smoke and an additional fire engine was sent to the scene, plus a water carrier from Bridgwater.
“The single shed fire had started spreading to a further three more sheds. Crews extinguished the fires using three hose reel jets,” a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The sheds were all severely destroyed, as well as their contents, by fire and heat. The cause is believed to have been accidental due to an unattended bonfire.
