Security tightened after break-in at Burnham-On-Sea Pier

-

Money was stolen from Burnham-On-Sea pier in an overnight break-in early on Sunday (August 1st).

Police confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com that a masked thief had entered the property shortly after 4.30am before causing damage to two gaming machines and fleeing with a quantity of cash.

Police officers were in attendance at the Pavilion – which is famous for being the UK’s shortest pier – throughout Sunday morning, as pictured, as their investigation got underway.

Witnesses who saw anyone acting suspiciously at the pier at around the time of the incident should contact police via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The Pavilion’s Louise Parkin told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Security has been further tightened this week in the building with extra CCTV cameras and other measures.”
