A new sandwich bar and steakhouse has opened in Burnham-On-Sea town centre this week.
The Mayor and Mayoress cut a ribbon to officially open the new business, called Burrs, at 11 Victoria Street on Sunday (November 1st).
Burrs is offering a wide selection of quality, fresh sandwiches, rolls and baguettes plus cakes to eat in or take away. And from December it will launch steak nights on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Owner Donna Berry told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “All our ingredients are local – we use meat from Pyne’s of North Petherton and bread from Maiseys Bakery in Highbridge. We take pride in offering something different – high quality, freshly-made sandwiches, rolls and baguettes that are made through the day.”
Its shopfront has a classic Victorian branding and Donna explained why: “We are keen to ensure that our branding is in line with the Victorian theme in this part of town, in keeping with the surrounding properties, but also being fresh and modern.”
Burnham’s Mayor Michael Clarke told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s wonderful to see a new business like this opening and one of our few vacant premises being filled with a quality, local business. It’s a service that will be welcomed by residents and visitors alike.”
Burrs is open from 8am-4pm each day, Monday-Saturday. It offers hot breakfast baguettes from 8am-11am each weekday from November 3rd. The premises was previously home to the Red Cross, which closed last year.
