The branch at 56 The High Street will shut its doors for the final time on Friday 5th November.
The closure follows the merger of Lloyds Bank and the Halifax following the banking crisis last year and the resulting closure of hundreds of branches across the UK.
All Burnham-based customers of the Halifax have this week been sent letters explaining the situation and customers are being told their accounts are not affected.
Spokeswoman Emma Partridge told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are vacating the High Street Halifax branch in Burnham in early November. We are writing to customers who use this branch to inform them of their nearest Halifax branch.”
“Alternatively, customers can transact at their local Post Office on Victoria Street. We understand that location is important. If it would be more convenient for customers to manage their accounts at a branch in Burnham, we are more than happy to support them in moving their accounts to the local Lloyds TSB which is also on the High Street.”
