Final race of summer season held on Burnham seafront

-

Over 40 runners competed in the final seafront race of the summer season on Thursday evening (August 12th).

Runners from across the region gathered on The Esplanade for the 5km race that saw competitors running three laps of a circuit between the Tourist Information Centre and Burnham Sailing Club.

First place was won by Andrew Hussey from Cheltenham Harriers in a time of 17 minutes and 31 seconds. Second place went to Simon Hancock and third was Richard Smith – both from Clevedon.

Organiser Martin Rogers from Burnham Swim and Sports Academy told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The event was well supported and was our final seafront run of the summer season. We’ll be starting our autumn runs in October.”
