Fancy a morning stroll, deer? Unusual beach visitor spotted in Burnham

-

Beach walkers in Burnham-On-Sea did a double-take when they spotted a deer bounding along the beach before enjoying a paddle in the sea on Tuesday (April 29th).

The young animal, pictured here, was spotted running along the sands near the town’s lighthouse.

“It was a very unusual sight – I have seen many deer over the years but never one running on the beach or entering the sea,” eyewitness Al Crook told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

He said the animal was not hurt and seemed oblivious to nearby walkers enjoying the morning sunshine.

“It ran along the beach several times, including into the sea, before running off into the sand dunes.”
