Local residents reported seeing thick smoke in the area and two fire engines from Burnham were sent to St Marks Road to investigate at 6.15pm.
“Crews removed a wood burner to gain access to the fire and extinguished the fire using a hose with a chimney rose attached,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
