The fifth anniversary of the opening of Brent knoll’s community shop was celebrated over the weekend.
Villagers and supporters of the shop gathered at the village hall on Saturday (April 26th) to celebrate the milestone and enjoy a cake especially baked for the occasion.
A special poem written for the occasion was recited by Brent Knoll postman Tim Dean, receiving loud applause at the end.
More than 20 local residents, including local MP Tessa Munt, attended the function to join the celebration.
The community-run shop, which was initially based in a Portakabin in the village, moved into a permanent new shop building at the end of last year, as we reported here.
“Thank you to everyone who has helped and supported us to get us to this 5 year birthday. Onwards and upwards!” said a spokesperson.
