A special charity ball was held on Friday evening (April 25th) to thank the House family for their contribution to Brean’s tourism industry over seven decades.
The Somerset Branch of the British Holiday Homes & Parks Association (BH&HPA) hosted the Celebration Ball at the Batch Country House at Lympsham, near Burnham-On-Sea.
A total of £3,758 was raised during the evening for two charities close to the House Family’s hearts: the Injured Jockey’s Fund and St Margaret’s Hospice Care.
Sarah Miles, BH&HPA Branch Chairperson, said: “The House family are members of our Somerset Branch and have been very supportive to both the branch and also nationally with the organisation.”
“The ball was held to celebrate the House Family and to thank them for their contribution to the holiday park industry and also to the local area and numerous charities they have supported for over 75 years since Holiday Resort Unity began.”
The money was raised from tickets sales, raffle and fun games throughout the evening, alongside live music.
A toast was made to the House family who were presented with a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for their recognition.
“It was a night to remember and thoroughly enjoyed by all and certainly celebrated in style,” added Sarah.
Local businesses that donated raffle prizes included Careavan, The House Family, Rich’s Cider, Roger & Rosemary Jackson, Thatchers Cider, Weston Super Mare Golf Club, Mendip Activity Centre, Taunton Racecourse, Newton Abbott Racecourse, Haynes Motor Museum, Bliss Beauty, Noah’s Ark and Christie & Co.
