Almost 200 people attended the funeral for a well-known Burnham-On-Sea resident on Thursday (April 24th), who was remembered for his community work over several decades.
As reported here, Ken Hindle, 90, passed away on March 20th following a brief period of illness.
Ken was actively involved with Burnham Community Centre and the BAY Centre over six decades, plus local youth activities and other community groups.
The Service of Thanksgiving was held at St. Andrew’s Church, led by Reverend Cheryl Hawkins.
Warm memories and anecdotes of Ken’s busy life were recalled by relative Peter Cowburn and local resident Mike Long who said he had been “a giant in our community”.
The traditional service, comprising of poetry, music, hymns and readings, included a collection for Cancer Research UK and Burnham Community Centre.
