Burnham-On-Sea’s Avenue Tennis Club is hosting a free Pickleball Taster Session in May.
The event on Saturday 3rd May from 3-5pm will be open to both club members and members of the public.
Tim Seymour, Head Coach, will be on-hand to introduce the game to those attending.
“Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. It’s played on a badminton-sized court with a tennis-style net, and players use paddles to hit a perforated plastic ball over the net.”
“The game can be played in singles or doubles. It is one of the fastest growing sports across the country. Pickleball is easy to pick up and very social.”
“The plan is to establish regular pickleball sessions at the Club following the taster session and details of these will be posted on the club’s website shortly.”

For those also interested in taking up tennis, the Avenue offers some of the best facilities in Somerset with eight floodlit all weather tennis court and a superb clubhouse with bar.
The Avenue runs a number of well-attended club sessions each week and has an active social side as well as having a large number of league teams for those looking to play competitively.
