Organisers of Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge’s Carnival have this week formally started the countdown to this autumn’s parade by holding their annual general meeting.
This year’s 2025 Burnham-On-Sea Carnival will be held on Monday November 3rd, it was confirmed at the meeting held on Wednesday (March 19th) at The Coopers Arms in Highbridge.
Key positions elected during the AGM were Annalee New as Carnival Chairman, Wayne Carlisle as Vice Chairman, Lisa Prout as Treasurer, and Sean Matravers as Secretary, pictured here.
Annalee said it had been a busy year of activity and that fundraising continues to be a key focus. “We are keen to hear from new local potential sponsors after a year of rising costs despite extensive fundraising,” she added.
Two new members were welcomed to the committee plus seven new associate members. Dave Perrett was also elected as a life member.
She added that further new helpers are welcome by attending one of the carnival’s monthly meetings held on the second Wednesday of every month at 7.30pm at the Coopers Arms in Highbridge.
