Students and staff at King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge have taken part in a special event to mark the lighting up of its Christmas tree.
The Mayor of Burnham and Highbridge, Cllr Sharon Perry, visited to switch on the lights in front of staff and students.
The school’s student choir sang Christmas songs to add to the warm festive atmosphere.
Local businesses added to the festive spirit with stalls offering sweet treats and handmade cards, while the school’s enterprise students showcased their creativity by selling slime.
Teachers embraced the holiday spirit, participating in a wreath-making workshop organised by Mrs Green.
Headteacher Mr. Milford praised the event, saying, “It’s a great opportunity for the community to come together.”
