Burnham-On-Sea’s Tesco store gives Christmas boost to local charity

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Tesco store has given a Christmas funding boost to local charity Somerset Breast Cancer Now.

Burnham’s Tesco store manager Martin Rose and Roz Benney, community champion at the store, presented a cheque for £1,000 to Holly MacBeth of Somerset Breast Cancer Now on Saturday (December 23rd).

The money was donated from the sale of donated books at Tesco’s charity book store throughout the year.

Holly says: “We are delighted to have been chosen as the local charity they wished to support – it means a lot that the Tesco community grants fund has supported us in 2023.”

“A huge thanks to Roz for selecting us, knowing the good this will do for so many local people. What a fantastic way to end our year of fundraising.”

Roz adds Tesco is happy to give its backing to the project and thanked customers who have bought books at the store to raise the funds.

Earlier this month, a new life-saving defibrillator was also installed outside Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre with the support of Tesco.
