Burnham-On-Sea’s town Christmas tree has been hoisted back into position after being blown down and damaged by high winds.
The 25ft tree – located at the junction of Old Station Approach and Abingdon Street – was toppled by strong gusts last Saturday.
A spokesperson for the Town Council, which oversees the two town trees in Burnham and Highbridge, says its contractor has had to remove several feet of the tree due to damage to the trunk so that it could be raised into position.
The two trees in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge have proved contentious this year after some councillors expressed concern over their cost.
