Burnham Scouts thank group for helping fund their visit to World Jamboree in Korea

-

Two Burnham-On-Sea Scouts who attended the World Jamboree in Korea earlier this year have recounted their experience during a visit to a local group this week.

Rory Kerton and Iona Davies were selected to attend the Scout Jamboree, which has been taking place for over 100 years. The event is held every four years in a different country.

This past Summer, over 4,500 Scouts and Guides from across the UK made their way to Korea for the 25th World Scout Jamboree.

Rory and Iona held various fundraising activities to fund the trip – one of which included approaching Burnham-On-Sea Moose group for support.

“The focus of Moose International is on community support, which includes helping the young achieve their aims in life, so, at the Moose presentation evening in March, both scouts received a donation of £100 each to their respective targets,” says Burnham-on-Sea Moose President Alan Flower.

“In return, at our latest Moose group meeting in Berrow, they returned the favour by delivering an entertaining illustrated talk of their positive experience. During their talk, various souvenirs were passed around the hall for inspection. The sesson ended by a questions and answers.”

“Our thanks go to them both for their entertaining presentation of your trip.
