The Burnham-On-Sea area is among the happiest places to live in Somerset according to data released by The Office for National Statistics (ONS).
The Government agency has ranked areas of Somerset using figures from a national survey on personal wellbeing. It invited residents to grade their happiness during the year to March 2023.
The data has been released this month publicly online and it found that Somerset West is the happiest compared to Mendip, South Somerset, and Sedgemoor.
The Somerset West area had the highest happiness level, with a score of 7.76 out of ten. This compares to a UK-wide average score of 7.39.
The Sedgemoor area – which includes Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge plus the Huntspills, Brean, Berrow, Brent Knoll and Bridgwater – ranks second in Somerset happiness with a score of 7.59 out of ten, which is above the national 7.39 average.
