Large crowds filled the streets of Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday (October 23rd) for the return of the town’s Food & Drink Festival.

Over 80 stalls were set up around the northern end of the town centre featuring produce and street food from across the region.

A steady flow of people headed into the town centre for the event, which was held on a dry autumn day.

The event, run by eat:Festivals, also saw two DJs providing background music, buskers on the High Street, and fairground side shows. Strolling street entertainers were also out and about during the day.

Co-organiser Bev Milner Simonds told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was another busy day at eat:Burnham on what to many felt like the first day of autumn. The town filled up early with visitors and residents keen to sample, learn and buy from over 80 local food and drink produces from across Somerset.”

Fellow co-organiser Sarah Milner Simonds added: “It’s always a welcome return to Burnham-On-Sea, our hometown, and where eat:Festivals began nine years ago. It was great to have music in three areas of the festival this time and to see our entertainers raising smiles as they wandered through the closed streets.”

It was only the second eat:Burnham festival to be held in the town since 2019 due to the pandemic – and the whole of the market was held in the open air with extra signs and safety measures in place to reduce the risk of Covid transmission.
