After record numbers of visitors headed to its recent Open Evening, Highbridge’s King Alfred School Academy Sixth Form is hosting an Open Morning today (Saturday, October 9th).
The academy saw large numbers tour the school-based Sixth Form for its annual Open Evening last week.
Now, they are hosting an Open Morning this Saturday at 9:30am for parents, carers and prospective Year 11 students who may have missed the previous event or who would like a tour of the school in the daylight.
In the last two years the numbers studying at the Sixth Form has grown by over 100%.
Head of Sixth Form Jonathan Gaskell says: “It was a tremendous Open Evening – we want to give an opportunity this Saturday morning for anyone who might have missed it or who would like to visit us during the day.”
“We have an outstanding campus and superb students and teachers. We are very excited about the future.”
There has been constant success from students over the last few years with a 100% pass rate, and with 80% going to Russell Group Universities.
This year, three students are heading off to study at Cambridge and Oxford universities.
Other students achieving places at Cardiff, St Andrews, Queen’s in Belfast, King’s College in London, Durham, Sheffield, University College London, the London School of Economics, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Lancaster, Exeter, Bristol and Loughborough.
In the three years since becoming part of The Priory Learning Trust the school and Sixth Form have thrived, attracting students from Weston-super-Mare, Bridgwater and even internationally. The Sixth Form has benefitted from significant investment since joining TPLT. Places are available for next year on a wide range of subjects.
