Coronavirus case numbers in Somerset are continuing to rise, according to the latest official figures.
The official data shows 202 new cases were confirmed in four Somerset districts in the last 24 hours.
The numbers include 55 in Sedgemoor – which covers Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge – plus 55 in South Somerset, 56 in Somerset West & Taunton; and 36 in Mendip.
The total of 202 positive tests takes the overall tally of positive cases in the county council area to 12,649 since the pandemic started.
The district totals have grown to 3,471 in Sedgemoor; 3,361 in South Somerset; 3,690 in SWT; and 2,127 in Mendip.
The NHS’s official R number for the South West is currently 1.1 to 1.5 with a daily infection growth rate range of +2% to +8% as of 8th January 2021.
