Somerset sees a further rise in positive Coronavirus tests

New figures show 45 fresh cases of Covid-19 have been recorded in Somerset during the latest 24 hour period.

A total of 45 new confirmed Covid-19 cases were recorded in the Somerset County Council area.

The district with the highest number in the period to 5pm on Wednesday was Somerset West and Taunton, with 19 cases.

There were 14 in Sedgemoor which includes the Burnham-On-Sea area, with seven in South Somerset and five in Mendip.

The overall tally now stands at Mendip 309; Sedgemoor 541; SWT 690; and South Somerset 511. The county total is 2,051.
