Brent Knoll’s new temporary shop handed financial boost to keep it open

-

Brent Knoll’s new temporary shop has been handed a financial boost to keep it open.

The Parish Council in Brent Knoll have been actively supporting the new emergency shop in the Village and have secured £2,000 in grants from both the Somerset Coronavirus recovery fund and Western Power.

Both of these grants will be used by the emergency shop steering group to develop the facility for the village during the emergency.

The Parish Council has also awarded grants totalling £600 to assist the project.

Owen Cullwick, Parish Council Clerk, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The Parish Council has been extremely supportive of the huge volunteering efforts in the village to help run the shop.”

He adds: “It is hoped that the continuing success may lead eventually to a permanent shop being reopened in the village.”
