Burnham-On-Sea Chamber of Trade has this week launched a new Springtime online shopping trail competition to help to boost awareness of small businesses in the town centre.
Burnham Chamber of Trade’s traditional shop window competition – where residents are asked to find hidden objects in shop windows to boost footfall – has had to be cancelled due to social distancing restrictions and in order to support the Government’s message of ‘staying at home’ during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Instead, the Chamber has launched an online version of the competition in which residents are being invited to visit a dozen local business websites here, find the special hidden logo on each website and identify the unique clue, then type it into the entry form here.
“This free-to-enter competition runs from May 1st-31st and aims to boost awareness of the variety of small businesses in Burnham town centre,” said a Chamber spokesman.
“The competition also marks the launch of the Chamber’s new ‘Love Burnham’ initiative to encourage residents to support the town centre as part of a longer-term project. Several follow-on activities and events are being planned to help Burnham survive in these unprecedented times.”
The Chamber will randomly pick three winners to the competition, and also assess the answer to a tie-breaker question, before awarding cash prizes as follows: £50 cash for the overall winner plus £25 cash for two runners-up. Winners will be contacted via email.
Burnham Chamber of Trade has also been working with local councils to provide business information and updates on grant funding and support available to them during the pandemic.
