Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge children invited to enter council design contest

-

Sedgemoor District Council is inviting Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge school children to get involved in a fun new competition.

The authority’s main office in King Square, Bridgwater is currently closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, however the council is still working and thinking ahead about when our offices will be open again.

Council spokeswoman Claire Faun says: “We have a busy reception area and we know we can make it better – so it will be redesigned to make it easier to access.”

“The Council is hoping that primary school-aged children (aged 4 – 11) will get busy, thinking about how our waiting area can more child friendly and enter a fun competition to help us.”

“We know how boring it can be for children if they have to wait with their families for an appointment or whilst adults are talking; so we’re asking them what would make it better, what equipment could we put in it, what sort of seating could we use?”

“Designs can be a digital image, painting, drawing, sticky pictures or any other idea! We just need to have the e-mailed or posted to us but we need to get them by 15th May.”

“There will be a prize and every entrant will get a certificate.  Just send your ideas, your name, age and contact details to digital.engagement@sedgemoor.gov.uk or in the post.  We look forward to seeing some great work!”
