Burnham-On-Sea Library is continuing to support local people with a wide range of reads to help these challenging times of self-isolation.
Although Burnham’s library and other buildings across Somerset are closed, there are thousands of free books, audiobooks and even magazines available to download.
For anyone without a library card, joining online is easy and free. Visit www.somersetreads.co.uk and then click on the ‘join here’ link and within minutes you will be able to start downloading some great titles.
So, whether you are whiling away the hours confined to your home or stuck in a queue at the supermarket, you can listen to your favourite author or perhaps browse the Radio Times, Good Food Magazine or Gardeners World Magazine on your phone.
If you have already borrowed books or DVDs, you don’t need to return items until library buildings are able to re-open and of course there will be no overdue charges to worry about.
There is also a wide range of content available via social media, including story-times, fun activities and links to reliable sources of support, all curated by information professionals.
