A cow stuck in mud in the River Brue in Highbridge has been rescued by a Burnham-On-Sea fire crew this week.
Crews were called to the river bank near Clyce Road in Highbridge after the animal was stuck in deep mud, as pictured here.
A spokesman said: “One appliance from Burnham-On-Sea was sent from fire control to a report of a sheep in the mud on the bank of the River Brue in Highbridge.”
“Once in attendance, it was clear that this was a cow and requested the attendance of an off road vehicle from Burnham and Specialist Rescue Team from Bridgwater.”
“Crews resced the cow using strops, lines, mud paths, and the help from a farmer’s tractor. The cow was unharmed and released back with his pals!”
