Professor David Bellamy has named Dulhorn Farm Holiday Park near Burnham-On-Sea as one of the UK’s greenest places to take a holiday – and awarded it a special award for protecting the natural world.
Set in 130 acres of countryside in between East Brent and Lympsham, Dulhorn Farm Holiday Park is celebrating its 5th year as a winner of the David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award which rewards holiday parks with forward-looking environmental policies.
The family-run, working farm provides some fully serviced, electric and hardstanding pitch facilities for touring caravans, motorhomes and tents, as well as caravan storage facilities.
Martin Delderfield, Groundsman at the holiday park, pictured above, is among those celebrating as has work has been instrumental in achieving the award.
The park has been helping the environment over many years, planting more than 2,000 trees and maintaining grass land and hedges in a way that offers maximum benefit to wildlife.
In addition, they have created a wildflower area in the grounds, sown with high nectar-bearing blooms which provides valuable foraging resources for honey bees and other pollinators.
Dulhorn Farm Holiday Park has also laid out a nature trail to help its thousands of UK and overseas visitors each year make new wildlife and plant discoveries.
