£855 has been raised for the Friends of Burnham-On-Sea Hospital charity during a fundraising evening in the town.
Mark Stanton from the Lakeside Owners Club organised the event at the Ritz Social Club – the second time he has organised such a fundraiser to support Burnham Hospital.
Committee member Chris Bettenson, who represented The Friends along with his wife Sandie and volunteers Kim and Clive Shepherdly, said: “Everyone there was fully supportive of our work and deeply appreciative of the services provided by the Hospital.”
The Ritz Social Club’s Paul Hale, who was the MC for the evening, kept everyone entertained and he also provided additional prizes including a weekend away for one lucky couple who were celebrating their 56th anniversary.
Mark put a huge effort into making the arrangements and organised some wonderful raffle prizes, including a TV.
To make it even more special, an extra game of bingo was completed where Paul managed to win £55 that he immediately donated to the Friends.
Towards the end of the evening, The Friends representatives were presented with a cheque for £750 and by the end of the evening a further £50 in cash was added bringing the total to £855.
A spokesman added: “The Friends would like to extend a huge thank you to Mark and all the Lakeside Owners for their efforts and generosity on the evening. It will make such a difference to the patients and staff. Well done all!”
