Members of the Burnham-On-Sea Swim and Sports Academy are celebrating after its squad team started the new swimming season in style.
The Academy Swim Team’s squad of 23 swimmers competed at the Somerset Development Meet at Millfield.
“This resulted in 18 Golds, 13 Silvers, 11 Bronze medals and 23 County Qualifying Time Certificates, gaining entry to the Somerset County Championships in January 2020,” said the Academy’s coach Sara Conklin-Cox.
“A fantatic start to the season. The team achieved a combined Personal Best gain of 297.39 seconds across 84 races — that averages out to a whopping 3.5 seconds personal best per event!”
The next event on the team calendar is the National Arena League Round 1 at Horfield in Bristol this weekend where the Academy’s Premier racing team are battling it out for top honours in the National League Western Division.
