A warning for potential flooding has been issued along Somerset’s coastline, including Burnham-On-Sea, this weekend by the Environment Agency.
It has a ‘Flood Alert’ in place as strong winds and heavy rain are set to sweep through the region during Sunday, combining with high tides.
The Met Office also has a yellow weather warning in place across the region for heavy rain until 5pm on Sunday.
The Environment Agency says overtopping of waves could occur at high tide. More details are available here.
A Met Office spokesman warned: “Heavy rain will fall during Sunday with flooding likely in places.”
It says that heavy rain will affect roads, making journey times longer, and adds there could be some interruption to power supplies and other services.
