Edward completes 160-mile London to Burnham walk to help homeless charity

-

A former student of Highbridge’s King Alfred School Academy who is now a successful West End actor has completed a 160-mile walk across the country to help a charity that supports homeless people.

Edward James finished his epic walk from London to Burnham-On-Sea on Tuesday (September 24th) which has been held to raise funds for Shelter, the leading homeless charity.

Cheering family, friends and supporters gathered in Berrow on Tuesday to greet him as he strode into the village at the end of his incredible trek, as pictured here.

It all came about after he realised how lucky he was to have two places to call home after moving to London to pursue his love of the stage.

Edward said: “The reason why I wanted to do this was since moving from the countryside into London I walk past homeless people all the time.”

“It’s a massive problem and it’s changing. You don’t just see single men being homeless but also families and young women.”

He has raised over £1,900 via his fundraising page at: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/eddjames

Edward’s career has so far has seen him work across the world and he is ambitious to be in a Hollywood film that he’d to one day like watch at Burnham’s Ritz Cinema.
