Burnham-On-Sea Carnival organisers issue urgent appeal for volunteer marshals

-

Organisers of Burnham-On-Sea’s Carnival have this week issued an urgent appeal for more helpers to come forward to serve as marshals at this autumn’s event.

Organisers say they need 65 marshals to safely run the procession through Burnham, but have currently only got 20 volunteers committed.

This year’s 2019 Burnham-On-Sea Carnival will be the 73rd annual parade and it will be held on Monday November 4th.

Talking to Burnham-On-Sea.com, Burnham and Highbridge Carnival Chief Marshal Bradley Loveridge said: “We are in great need of more helpers for marshalling.”

“We are struggling with numbers this year and we really encourage local people to consider helping out on the night.”

“Volunteers need to be aged 18 or over and would be needed on carnival day from 5pm-11pm to ensure the event goes ahead safely. Food is provided.”
