A mental health support group has been given a £1,120 boost by members of Burnham-On-Sea Harriers running club.
It comes after The Harriers set up a 10km running event called the Pawlett Plod two years ago to raise funds for good causes.
“This year’s event helped ‘Rusty Road 2 Recovery’, a non-profit organisation based in Bridgwater, which helps people suffering from mental health challenges,” says Mark Benton from Burnham Harriers.
“It helps a group of people strip an old wreck of a car and restore it into a classic to hopefully help them restore their health.”
The cheque was presented to a member of the Rusty Road team by the Burnham-On-Sea Harriers at the ‘Parkrun’ at Apex Park on Saturday August 31st.
Vince from Rusty Road 2 Recovery thanked the group and said: “This is a great gift and will help us in our work.”
