Burnham-On-Sea Tesco store to launch Dance Beats fundraiser for three charities

-

Staff at Tesco in Burnham-On-Sea will be inviting customers to don their dancing shoes and show off their moves as part of a nationwide fundraising event this weekend for the supermarket’s three national health charity partners – Cancer Research UK, the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.

Visitors to the Burnham-On-Sea store in Ben Travers Way will be treated to some epic dance performances or they can show everyone their own moves on a specially created dance floor, providing plenty of selfie opportunities!

Customers will also be able to join Tesco staff and charity representatives in learning the ‘Pump and Slide’, a specially created dance routine put together by Oti Mabuse, star of Strictly Come Dancing and The Greatest Dancer. It’s all aimed at raising money for some great causes and having some fun.

The Burnham-On-Sea event forms part of three days of epic dance marathon fundraising events in thousands of Tesco stores across the country on the 18, 19 and 20 of July.

The fundraiser will culminate in an epic 30-hour world record attempt where thousands of Tesco staff and members of the public will come together to attempt a world record for the world’s Longest dance marathon relay at Wembley stadium

“Head down to your local Tesco store in to support their Dance Beats event, as well as taking part in fundraising events on 18, 19 and 20 July.”

“Check out Tesco social channels and have a go at performing one of the signature Dance Beats moves. For every dance move you upload Tesco will donate £10 to the Dance Beats campaign up to a maximum of £100,000.”

“You can also download the Dance Beats fundraising guide and create your own community dance event. To find out more information, and download the Dance Beats fundraising guide visit www.Tesco.com/DanceBeats.

And for those who can’t make it to the store can show support by texting DANCE to 70507 to give £5.

Dave Lewis, Tesco CEO, said: “Cancer, heart and circulatory diseases and diabetes touch almost every family in the UK, which is why in our centenary year we’re launching Dance Beats to support the important work of our three health charity partners. Our colleagues and customers continuously go to amazing lengths to raise millions for charity and we hope Dance Beats will be a great way to fundraise and have some fun through dancing.”
