Brean’s first official polo event held on Saturday (6th July) has been hailed a success after drawing crowds of spectators.
The free Brean beach polo event saw two polo teams playing matches on the sand, accompanied by live commentary and music.
Michael Ball from Taunton Vale Polo Club, organiser of Brean Beach Polo, said: “We’re really pleased with the turnout for Brean’s first official beach polo event.”
“Crowds of people turned up to watch the polo matches and cheer on the players. Well done to the winning team, Jurassic Park!”
“It was great to host something a bit different on the beach, and we definitely hope to hold more polo events in Brean in the future.”
Brean Beach Polo was on the section of beach opposite The Beachcomber. Over 200 people attended the popular event, and around an extra 100 cars parked on the beach.
