Burnham-On-Sea Community Centre’s fundraising appeal to enable repairs to go ahead to its roof and walls was given a boost of over £400 at the weekend.
The Friends of Burnham-On-Sea Community Centre held a garden party on Saturday (June 29th) at a home in Rectory Road, which was well supported by a steady stream of supporters.
Christine Owen, the chair of the group, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We held a very successful garden party attended by about 60 people.”
“The weather was over-kind to us – it being rather hot – but everyone managed to find enough shade to enjoy themselves. We made a net amount of almost £440, all towards the very worthy cause.”
“I’d like to thank my team of helpers for all their hard work, efforts and generosity. Thanks are also due to Liz Claydon for kindly allowing us to use her garden and house, and for her much-appreciated donations. Thank you too to all those who attended.”
Burnham-On-Sea.com reported here that a fundraising appeal is underway to allow various work to go ahead to the building in Berrow Road.
