Scores of volunteers braved the hottest day of the year in Burnham-On-Sea to take part in a beach clean on Saturday (June 29th).
28 people took part in the beach clean-up near Burnham Sailing Club in the extreme heat.
“The rubbish that was collected on previous cleans was replaced by lush greenery which hampered the work,” said a spokesman for The Friends of Burnham Beach.
“Some of the group spent time on collecting nurdles and bio beads which were apparent in large numbers.”
“The Friends of Burnham Beach would like to thank all those who took part, new and old, and would like to invite as many people as possible to the next clean which takes place on the 27th July.”
