Brean beach’s first official polo event will be held today (Saturday 6th July).
The free-to-watch event will see polo teams playing matches on the sand, with live commentary and music.
Michael Ball from Taunton Vale Polo Club, organiser of Brean Beach Polo, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’re really looking forward to Brean’s first official beach polo event. We’d love to see lots of spectators come along to see the horses and watch the polo matches.”
“It’s a fast-paced and exciting sport, the horses are extremely agile, and it’s thrilling to watch so close to the action.”
He added: “DJ Mark Daniels will provide entertaining commentary and music. The event build-up starts from 4.30pm with the polo tournament from 5.30pm onwards.”
Brean Beach Polo will be on the section of beach opposite The Beachcomber (Warren Road, TA8 2RP). It is a free event with everyone welcome to spectate.
There is beach parking via Brean Beach Entrance for £3.50 per car. Pedestrians can walk over on to the sands.
