Police have arrested three people after several intruders gained access to Sanders Garden Centre in Brent Knoll during the early hours of Tuesday morning (June 18th).
CCTV cameras captured footage of the trio forcing their way into the garden centre grounds shortly after 1.30am before security staff alerted Police.
Police spokesman Wayne Baker told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called to reports of three intruders at the garden centre in Bristol Road, Brent Knoll.”
“Shortly afterwards, the three suspects were arrested near to the garden centre.”
“The three men aged between 23 and 29 years remain in police custody. Police enquiries into the incident are continuing.”
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact us quoting reference 5219135895.”
A spokesman for Sanders Garden Centre told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were notified by our security monitoring control room that three intruders had been seen entering the site at 1.40am.”
”The police were alerted and attended the site with dog handlers and our control room directed them towards the intruders.“
After attempting to flee on foot, the police helicopter was called in for assistance and all three were apprehended and arrested.
The spokesman added: “This incident highlights the effectiveness of our 24-hour CCTV security monitoring facility along with the prompt and clinical way in which it was dealt with by our local Police.”
