Two Burnham-On-Sea youngsters have competed in a regional archery competition.
Darragh and Molly Joyce, both pupils at Highbridge’s King Alfred School Academy, travelled to Cleve Junior Open Tournament near Bristol at the weekend.
Molly achieved a south west regional record and Darragh broke a county record as they competed in the under 14s category. They both were the highest-scoring shooters in their bow styles.
Father Adam told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Darragh scored 949 out of a possible 970, giving him first place in the U14s and he was only 7 points off the national record. Molly scored a very impressive 683 which placed her in first place in her category too.”
“Their next major competitions are the county championships at the end of the month followed by the national championships during first week of July.”
