Video footage captured by Burnham-On-Sea.com shows this impressive funnel cloud forming over Brent Knoll on Friday evening (June 7th) during a thunderstorm.
The twisting funnel cloud was seen forming over the northern side of Brent Knoll just after 6pm, lasting just over a minute.
The unusual weather phenomenon came during heavy rain showers generated by Storm Miguel as it swept across the west country with occasional thunder and lightning.
BBC Points West weatherman Ian Fergusson said there had been two other sightings of funnel clouds across the region, one near Taunton and another near Longleat, as the storms passed through. A Met Office yellow warning was in force.
A nursery school in Mendip Avenue, Worle, was also struck by lightning, with fire crews called to the scene after the roof was badly damaged.
