Burnham-On-Sea runner completes gruelling 100km Ultra Marathon for charity

-

Two Burnham-On-Sea runners have taken part in a gruelling 100km Ultra Marathon between London and Brighton this month.

Colan Walker and Simon Prior took part in the Ultra Marathon on 25th May, raising money for Breast Cancer Now and Alzheimer’s UK.

Simon was unfortunately struck by a bout of sickness and was unable to complete the course, pulling out after 18 miles.

But Colan managed to complete the event with Mike Glover, a friend and runner from Yeovil, both of whom are pictured above.

Colan told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We started as three but unfortunately Simon couldn’t finish after suffering a bout of sickness and had to pull out of the race at the second checkpoint.”

“Mike Glover, a runner from Yeovil who’s a friend, and I manged to get through the pain barrier and mental barrier of 100km and finished at 10.45pm. We were absolutely exhausted mentally and physically, but also elated that we had done it!”
