Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront car park next to the B&M store is partly closed this week while £33,000 of resurfacing work is carried out.
Sedgemoor District Council, which owns the car park, is overseeing the work at the Pier Street West short-stay car park, which lies between the B&M store and The Esplanade.
“Work started on Tuesday, May 7th and will last for about a week, depending on the weather,” council spokeswoman Claire Faun told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Pier Street West will be closed to vehicles for the duration of the work but the South and East car parks will remain open.”
“This work complements the new ticket machines and tariff boards recently installed at Pier Street car park.”
Sedgemoor District Council has a rolling maintenance programme at its 18 car parks, which offer a total of 1,691 parking spaces. Of those, 791 spaces being within the five car parks in Burnham and Highbridge.
The coach parking area will be unaffected by the work.
