Colourful seafront gardens burst into bloom thanks to the Friends of Marine Cove

-

With the arrival of Spring, volunteers at Burnham-On-Sea’s Friends of Marine Cove have begun work on maintaining the seafront gardens.

Monthly gardening sessions are scheduled for 4th May, 1st June, 6th July, 3rd August, 7th September, 5th October from 9am-11am when volunteers are welcome.

Friends Of Marine Cove spokesman Scott Mason told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Nine people attended our first session when a range of activities were carried out in the gardens, from weeding to litter picking, to flower planting.”

The group is also organising a May Day celebration at the seafront gardens on Monday May 6th from 11am-1pm featuring a picnic and seasonal entertainment from the King Alfred Brass Band.

To get more information about joining The Friends Of Marine Cove or regarding the gardens in general, contact the Parks Team via parks@sedgemoor.gov.uk or call 01278 435388.
