Emergency services called to medical incident in Burnham High Street

-

Burnham-On-Sea High Street was temporarily closed on Saturday (April 6th) as emergency services dealt with a serious medical incident.

Ambulance crews were called to the northern end of the High Street at around 12.30pm to Cafe Beans.

Police diverted traffic away from the High Street while paramedics were at the scene.

A Great Western Air Ambulance also landed at St Andrew’s School playing field and took off a short time later.

A South Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust spokesperson told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called at 12:27pm to reports of a patient collapsed. We attended with an ambulance, an air ambulance, an operations officer, a Community First Responder and a rapid response vehicle. One patient was taken to hospital via land for further treatment.”
