New flats planned to replace Burnham-On-Sea’s former HSBC bank building

-

A former bank building in Burnham-On-Sea may be turned into flats if a planning application gets the go-ahead by local councillors.

The HSBC bank in Burnham’s College Street closed in 2017 and is set to be converted into four self-contained flats under proposals submitted by GCGP Properties Limited.

The firm has applied for planning permission to change the use of the building into two one-bedroom ground floor and two first-floor flats.

GCGP Properties Limited states in its planning application: “33 College Street is located within the town centre of Burnham-On-Sea, a highly sustainable location having access to a range of public services, facilities and employment opportunities.”

“The street comprises a mix of residential and shops. No parking bays are proposed for the flats, as the development is in a highly sustainable location, having access to a range of public services, facilities and employment opportunities.”

Sedgemoor District Council’s planning department is currently considering the application -reference 11/18/00132 – and welcomes any comments by April 30th.
