New state-of-the-art security and upgraded CCTV cameras at King Alfred School Academy in Highbridge have this week helpedĀ police track down several intruders.

The improved security, which has recently been installed, was put to full use on Wednesday night (February 20th).

A school spokesperson told Burnham-On-Sea.com: ā€œThanks go to our local police who quickly apprehended some youths who were on site at the school without permission.”

ā€œMost young people are doing the right things but, rest assured, we will not readily tolerate trespassers on site.”

He added: ā€œThe new security cameras and security is working well and intruders will be caught.”

ā€œPlease be aware the academy is not open to the public without proper permissions and Police will be called. Thank you for your support.ā€
