Burnham-On-Sea Pantomime Society thanks 1,200 people who attended its shows

-

Burnham-On-Sea and District Pantomime Society has thanked local people for supporting its latest shows during its 50th anniversary year.

Burnham and District Pantomime Society’s 50th anniversary show, ‘Cinderella’, was performed to packed audiences during their eight shows, selling over 1,200 tickets to the local community.

Gavin Holman, the group’s Chairman, said: “This is something which we are very thankful for, as without the community’s support we would find it difficult to fund future Pantomimes, with the ever increasing costs. This years Pantomime cost around £15000 to put on.”

“Everyone in the Pantomime gives up their time throughout the year, for rehearsals, scenery painting, prop building, costume making and the various other jobs required to ensure that we put on the best show we can.”

“As a society we are members of the Somerset Fellowship of Drama and NODA (National Operatic and Drama Association). During the run of the show the two organisations send along representatives, who critique the show and ensure that we are sticking to the rules of Pantomime.”

“So all in all, with over 1200 members of the public attending this years Pantomime, celebrating 50 years of Pantomime in Burnham was a resounding success and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2020. Thanks for your continued support!”
